Sandy Beach Homes for families, friends, singles
Sandy Beach Homes, Saipan’s newest housing community, welcomes households of families, friends and singles to apply for the affordable housing, which will be ready for occupancy starting January 1, 2012.
The 60-unit housing community is within close proximity of the island’s business and tourism districts and is made possible through a housing developer’s federal tax credit.
Open floor plans and balconies overlooking the western lagoon add to the esthetic appeal of the homes. In addition, energy conservation features will help residents minimize their utility costs. Sandy Beach Homes is able to offer affordable rental units below market rate under a federal affordable housing program administered by Northern Marianas Housing Corp.
“We want to clarify that Sandy Beach households can be comprised of families, groups of friends or co-workers, and individuals,” said Bob Jones, Managing Partner of Sandy Beach Homes. “We’re pleased to welcome all interested applicants to visit our leasing office and find out if they are eligible to take advantage of the premier housing provided by Sandy Beach.”
To qualify, applicants need to meet income limits established by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development guidelines. For example, a four-person household must have, in general, an income of not more than $35,760 a year. While U.S. citizenship is not required, applicants should be legally residing in the CNMI. Other eligibility requirements also apply.
The new housing community is on San Isidro Avenue and now has a model unit open in Apartment 210 for tours. All 60 units will be move-in ready on Jan. 1, 2012. Open house and leasing office hours are 9:30am – 5:30pm. Monday through Friday, and 8am to 12pm on Saturday.
Applications, a list of required documents, and details about the homes can be found at www.sandybeachhomes.net or at model unit. For more information, e-mail the leasing office at leasing@sandybeachhomes.net or call 670.235.7263 (SAND).
