The Ladera International School of Saipan has apologized for using pictures of the Saipan International School in its promotional materials, and has stopped distributing the materials containing SIS pictures.

LISS encourages anyone who has seen any LISS materials depicting SIS buildings or students to return these materials to LISS.

Before opening their new school in Finasisu this August, the owners of the Ladera International School of Saipan held an English camp on the campus of SIS. During the camp, with permission from SIS, LISS took pictures of their camp students on the SIS campus interacting with SIS students. LISS published some of these pictures in PR materials promoting the new LISS school which is now open in Finasisu.

Once LISS heard complaints from parents and SIS administrators, LISS sent an apology letter to SIS, returned all the related materials to SIS, and stopped producing and distributing the materials in question.

LISS officials said they realize the seriousness of this problem and want to do all it can to make things right.

Mr. Park, one of the owners, stated, “We at LISS hope to improve the CNMI economy and to strengthen the world’s view of CNMI education–not hurt it, so we know we need to correct this type of mistake right away.” (PR)
