5 investors in DOI conference interested in NMI
At least five investors attending the Department of the Interior-sponsored business conference in Hawaii have shown interest in the CNMI, said Commerce Secretary James Santos.
He said these investors have made initial inquiries with the government.
“So far, we’ve got five investors on the list. We hope to meet and discuss with them during the conference,” said Santos in an interview. He declined to identify specific investors.
He said the CNMI delegation, headed by acting Gov. Timothy P. Villagomez, will be available for discussions with potential investors in the general exhibit area and in a suite at the conference venue.
“ We will also be renting a suite that is reserved for investors meetings,” Santos said.
He said his team has prepared CNMI brochures and materials to distribute to conference participants.
The CNMI delegation includes Finance Secretary Eloy Inos, press secretary Charles P. Reyes, and officials from the Marianas Visitors Authority, Commonwealth Development Authority, and Commonwealth Ports Authority.
Some senators and members from the business community will also join the trip.
The business conference gathers industry experts and regional businesspeople speaking on tourism, tourism and real estate development, infrastructure development, tax incentives, utilities and telecommunications, among other topics.
