HANMI Cup meeting reset for tomorrow
The next organizational meeting for the Inaugural HANMI Cup-Inter Hotel Basketball League will take place tomorrow, Nov. 5, instead of Tuesday, Nov. 7, as the organizing committee is looking to fast-track preparations for the 2006-2007 season.
While the date has been moved two days early, the time and venue stays the same as the tete-a-tete will take place at 3:30pm at the Mai Restaurant of Fiesta Resort and Spa.
Team rosters, waiver forms, $5 insurance fee, and other pertinent documents and requirements will be due during the meeting.
The Inaugural HANMI Cup-Inter Hotel Basketball League will kick off on Nov. 26, 3pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
There will be a drawing of lots to determine which two among the so far eight teams that have signed up will square off in the lone game in the opener.
After the game, a barbecue party will be held at the Minatchom Atdao Pavillion across the Oleai Sports Complex.
As of yesterday, Aqua Resort Club, Fiesta Resort and Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Marianas Resort and Spa, Pacific Islands Club, Saipan Grand Hotel, Saipan Nikko Hotel, and Saipan World Resort have confirmed their participation in the competition.
The Inaugural HANMI Cup, organized by the Northern Marianas Bartenders Association with endorsement from the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, is expected to last three months with the champion crowned by early next year.
