Cross Country a go tomorrow
The third leg of the 2006 All Schools Cross Country Series will go on as planned tomorrow at the Commonwealth Ports Authority field.
As reported earlier, the event was moved to tomorrow instead of the original scheduled date of Oct. 28 to allow athletes who will be competing on Guam on Oct. 27 that opportunity to still compete in the Series.
The event, being organized by Northern Marianas Athletics, will get underway at 4pm. Registration for all students interested in competing will begin at 3:15pm.
The event will also feature five age groups for both boys and girls, including the 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18.
Public and private schools will be allowed to enter unlimited number of students in each category.
The 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12 year-olds will be tasked with tackling a 1.1-mile course, while competitors in the two older divisions will have a 2.2-mile course to conquer.
As with the previous meets, the event serves as a tune up for the finale of the Series, dubbed as the 2006 All Schools Cross Country Championships, which has been moved from Nov. 14 to Nov. 18.
