SLLBA elections this weekend
The Saipan Little League Baseball Association provided area youth and their families with a full slate of games and a lifetime worth of memories in 2006.
This weekend, the people who organize the local baseball program will call upon its members to name the skippers for the upcoming season during the SLLBA elections.
According to current SLLBA president Mike Borja, the association will hold its annual election of officers in the conference room of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium tomorrow, Oct. 21, 10am, but he may not be on the ballot.
In a previous interview with the Saipan Tribune, Borja intimated that he may not run for re-election but that he would be interested in moving into the vice president’s slot to give another member an opportunity to guide the league.
Borja had a fruitful run in the SLLBA top spot as he spent countless hours with his fellow board members working with the business community to secure support for Saipan’s most popular sport.
When he wasn’t meeting with executives from McDonald’s, Pacific Trading Co, Microl Toyota, and more, Borja was busy working with District Administrator James Ada the board members to organize the CNMI District Tournament and sending the local boys to the 2006 Little League World Series.
