In line with its 20th anniversary celebration, Grace Christian Academy will hold International Fun Day today in continuation of its Missions Convention held last Tuesday.

GCA principal Faith Dela Rosa is inviting all its alumni and parents of current students to come up to the Navy Hill campus today if they have time so that they could have the chance to mingle with students who will be showcasing different dishes from countries around the world.

Dela Rosa said GCA students would be bringing international food and delicacies from the countries they chose to represent into their classrooms.

Today’s event is also a fundraising activity for the benefit of all missionaries around the world.

Dela Rosa said the school children decided to donate whatever they would raise today to the missionaries, the reason why all alumni and parents are encouraged to participate.

Today’s event will also give a chance for GCA students to have a lunch together with the alumni and parents.

The weeklong celebration will culminate with a grand celebration on Sunday at the World Resort Saipan.

Dela Rosa said the event is open to all parents, alumni, and friends that would want to celebrate their two decades of providing quality education and values to children in the CNMI.

The fee for Sunday’s event is only $20 per person that includes a hearty meal, according to Dela Rosa.

In preparation for the anniversary celebration, GCA started a nightly service in the school chapel last night.

The school held a brief parade around its vicinity last Tuesday morning for its annual Missions Convention Day. GCA faculty member Ian Dionson said the event is aimed at exposing children to the international community.

Students wore national costumes of the countries they represent such as India, the Philippines, and Japan.

He said each class chose its own country and dressed up to represent their country of choice. He said the students explored different cultures around the world.

Dela Rosa added that the activity also celebrated the challenges and the efforts of all missionaries around the world.

“This is for the students to have awareness about God’s love through the work of all missionaries around the world,” she said.
