An unidentified man robbed a woman who was walking along Beach Road in Garapan early yesterday morning.

The victim, a 37-year-old Chinese, lost her purse containing $120 cash, driver’s license, and other personal documents, police said.

The suspect was described as possibly a local, about 5’6” to 5’8” tall, of slim built. He was wearing a black sleeveless shirt and gray short pants at the time, police said.

Police investigation showed that the victim was walking with a companion on Beach Road near Asian Scooters. The suspect came from behind and grabbed the victim’s purse.

The robber ran east on Orchid Street and was last seen near the Aquarius Condominium.

Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. appealed to anyone who has information about the robbery to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9045 or the Crime Stoppers Program hotline at 234-7272.

Recently, there were also some reported robbery cases on Saipan and Rota.
