Hours to sell alcohol extended

The hours to sell and serve alcoholic beverages are being extended until 4am on Dec. 31, 2011, New Year’s Eve, according to a notice issued yesterday by the Department of Commerce.

These extended hours are only for the evening of Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, until 4am on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. This authorization does not allow for further expansion of the extended hours.

“Any abuse of this extension will not be tolerated. This authorization only applies to Class-3 On-Sale licensees,” the statement adds.

Contact the Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Control Division hotline at 483-1821 to report any violation of the extended hours of sale.
