It was all good!, good!, good!, good job! at the Tanapag Elementary School yesterday morning, with scores of pupils from grades 1 to 5 being promoted to their next grade levels and some 35 students officially ending grade 6 to move on to junior high.

None did a better job than Toni Yamada, who was conferred the Commissioner’s Award as the top student of the graduating class. Hot on her heels was April Welson, who was awarded the Principal’s Award.

Despite the scorching heat of the morning sun, the stage area rang with “Good job! Good, good, good, good job!,” each time awards were conferred to each grade level, as every child and even adults took up the chant to praise this year’s accomplishments.

Several students were awarded certificates of citizenship, perfect attendance, and for making it to the A Honor Roll and B Honor Roll.

TES principal Frances Ulloa took the lead in conferring the awards to the students, not just handing out the awards and shaking the students’ hands but also hugging them and speaking to them in turn.

Representing the Public School System at the promotion ceremony were Ralph Waldo and Joann Nichols.
