Raganot tops MHS Class of 2006
Marianas High School senior Michelle Fatima Berzuela Raganot, daughter of Purisimo and Liwayway Raganot, is this school year’s valedictorian.
Out of a class of about 250, she ranked the highest academically. She has actively served and been a part of the National Honor Society, Mock Trial team, National Forensic League, and was the stage manager for Thespian Society and Friends of the Arts productions.
She has recently been accepted to the University of Michigan where she plans to continue her education.
In addition to being the valedictorian, Raganot also gained national recognition after receiving membership to the National Society of High School Scholars. The Society recognizes the top scholars in the nation and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence.
“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice, and commitment that Michelle has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence. Michelle is now a member of a unique community of scholars—a community that represents our very best hope for the future,” said NSHSS founder and chair Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family.
“Throughout her high school years, Michelle has shined and been an example of leadership, excellence, and service. In a school as large as Marianas High School, Michelle has stood out and is known to be reliable, focused, hardworking, and incredibly well-organized. It’s an honor to have such a distinguished Dolphin graduate such as Michelle receive the Valedictorian and other awards,” said Karen Borja, principal of Marianas High School.
“My wife and I are very proud of Michelle. It’s great that she will be recognized for her many sacrifices, late nights of studying and hard work. As a family, we will continue to support her in her educational pursuits,” said Purisimo Raganot.
