SSFM Int’l opens new Guam office
The Guam office of SSFM International held its grand opening party on May 22, an event that was attended by about 60 or more guests that included Guam Delegate Madeleine Bordallo, Guam First Lady Joann Camacho, Guam Contractor’s Association executive director James Martinez, and GCA president Karen Storts.
In attendance for SSFM were president Mike Matsumoto from Honolulu, and from Saipan were SSFM’s vice president Ralph Hayashi, Saipan general manager Greg Q. Castro, project manager Jessie Arizala, project engineer Tim Guerrero, and office manager Carmen T. Cabrera. Ralph Hayashi is vice president of the Pacific region that includes the Saipan and Guam Offices.
Following SSFM’s tradition of knowing how to party, the buffet centerpiece was a succulent roasted suckling pig, complemented by Chamorro red rice, fried chicken, sashimi, buttered mussels, clam kelaguen, crab with broccoli, vegetable salad, Thai summer rolls, beef tinala (barbecue dried beef) and flour titiyas. Desserts included carrot and Chamorro cakes, and Saipan’s own famous apigigi. The apigigi was made early Monday morning on Saipan and then hand-carried to Guam on Monday for the party.
SSFM, the initials of the founders of the company, first opened their office in Honolulu in 1959. The Saipan office was established in 1992. In February this year, the Guam office had a soft opening that led to the recent grand opening.
SSFM provides program management, project management, planning, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, geographic information system services, laser scanning, three-dimensional modeling, graphic designs and web designs throughout Hawaii and the Pacific area.
SSFM central office is in Honolulu with branch office on the islands of Kauai, Maui, and Big Island – Hawaii. In addition to the Saipan and new Guam offices, SSFM has offices in China and the Philippines.
