Upcoming deadlines of CNMI Scholarship Program
The Deadline for submission of the 2006/2007 CNMI Scholarship Application for this upcoming Fall 2006 term is fast approaching. Applications are available at our Capitol Hill Office between the hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Those unable to stop by are encouraged to access the application online at www.cnmischolarship.com. Applications must be submitted into our office or postmarked by July 1, 2006.
1) Educational Assistance Program (EAP) The “grant” is awarded to eligible students enrolled in a US accredited institution pursuing a Certificate, Associates Degree or Baccalaureate Degree who meet the set criteria in the programs policy.
Application deadline: July 1, 2006
Note: Application must be submitted by July 1st, 2006, additional supporting documents must be submitted by September 22, 2006.
Supporting Documents for EAP:
– Most recent sealed official transcript
– Acceptance letter from a recognized U.S. accredited institution; Non-U.S. accredited institution must be approved by the SAB
– Proof of Permanent CNMI Residence. This must be 2 consecutive years immediately preceding the date of application
– Copy of U.S. passport/ birth certificate from court
**Other documents may be requested.
2) Public Law 14-37 “CNMI Honors Scholarship Program” Every year a total of 15 newly high-school graduates with the highest scholastic standing will be selected to receive this award; two (2) students from the islands of Tinian and Rota, eight from the island of Saipan, and three from off-island. Call our office for more information.
Deadline for applications and supporting documents: June 30, 2006
Supporting documents include:
– Application and supporting documents must be received by our office by June 30th, 2006.
– Acceptance letter into a U.S. recognized accredited Institution
– Proof of US citizenship
– Sealed official transcript from high school
– Proof of residence: On-island: min. of 6 years residency, the last two must be from 11th and 12th grade. Off-island: Off-island graduates whose parents are bonafide CNMI residents at the time of the application and have been for a period of 8 years prior to the date of application.
– Submit SAT/ACT scores
– Submit 2 letters of recommendation
– Submit proof of extra curricular activities
