OFW Support Group holds 2nd rummage sale
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration-OFW Support Group will hold for the second time a “Huge Rummage for a Cause” and tent sale the whole day tomorrow, Sunday.
The group said it aims to assist all Filipino workers—not only those who are still in the CNMI but also those who have already returned home—through this fundraising activity.
Planning Committee officer Dang Bernabe invites everyone on Saipan to participate in this cause-oriented activity.
Bernabe said the event would be held from 9am to 6pm tomorrow at the Minachom Atdao in Susupe in front of the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
Donations for the sale are very much welcome, said Bernabe. “All they have to do is bring the items to the venue and look for the OFW Support Group booth.”
For those who want to participate and sell new or used clothes, a $5 entry fee will be charged.
The OFW-Support Group will forward the proceeds of the one-day sale to OWWA’s Tuloy-Aral Project, through which the support group is sponsoring the education of children of former OFWs.
At least 68 CNMI individuals and groups have come forward to participate in this year’s edition of the OWWA Tuloy-Aral Project.
Last school year, the Tuloy Aral Project in the CNMI ranked No. 1 among OWWA offices in the world after it managed to recruit 31 foster parents.
The Tuloy Aral Project is an OWWA project not only in the CNMI but also in other parts of the world where there are OWWA offices. It aims to help children of former overseas Filipino workers and other needy children in the Philippines fulfill their dreams of continuing their education. With the money, the children will be provided school necessities such as notebooks, pens, pads, bags, and books, among others.
