Police arrested yesterday a former employee of Marpac Inc. in Gualo Rai for allegedly stealing the company’s $120,000 collection for beer deliveries to its customers.

Edgardo Macabalo, 44, was arrested for theft. He was taken to the Superior Court for a bail hearing.

Associate Judge David A. Wiseman imposed a $100,000 cash bail for Macabalo’s temporary liberty.

Detective Jesse L. Dubrall stated in his report that based on his investigation, Macabalo, who was then an employee of Marpac, collected numerous cash payments from Ming Li Store for Marpac’s beer deliveries.

Dubrall said Macabalo denied he was responsible for the collection of payments.

But the storeowner produced invoices that were signed by Macabalo, according to the investigator.

Dubrall said an official of Marpac was able to verify from the warehouse delivery logs that the beer for some of the delivery invoices had been delivered.
