The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is advising the public that all high voltage wires on the power poles or the wires that hang from the pole to a house should be considered “live and energized.” People who touch or cut these wires could be shocked or electrocuted. The public utility warns all citizens not to touch any wires; they are dangerous.

It is also illegal to cut or take any CUC property, including the conductor-wires that are hooked up to vacant homes and businesses. Citizens who see wires that are hanging or cut, or who know about people who cut wires should immediately notify CUC by calling 235-0282. Assume the wires are dangerous and do not touch them. (PR)
