Lynn Teregeyo caught fire in her final two games and earned the Pepsi May Queen of the Lanes Tenpin Bowling Tournament Monday night at the Saipan Bowling Center.

After posting decent performances in her first two games, Teregeyo took her level of play to another level as she broke into a zone of her own, broke the 200-mark twice, and finished on top of the list with a total of 752 pins.

Teregeyo was just warming up when she fired a 168 in her opening game, and her performance improved in her second outing as she knocked down 174 pins.

All warmed up, Teregeyo got into a rhythm, kept her focus, and bruised 210 pins in her third game. She then kept up with the solid play and closed out her evening with 200 pins for an average of 188 pins per game.

Teregeyo’s play improved from the night before as she also competed on Sunday, posting the fourth-best result in the tournament with a total of 677 pins.

Taking home second place honors was veteran Emi Williams, who scored a total of 686 pins on Monday for an average of 171.5 pins per game.

Williams improved as the evening matured, starting off with 147 pins in her first game and 162 in her second. She improved by four pins in the third game, then kicked into high gear and posted the highest one-game total with 211 pins in her fourth game.

For her part, Gloria Omechelang won third place as she finished just two pins behind Williams with 684 during her Sunday stint.

Omechelang knocked down 150, 180, 170, and 184 pins in the four games for an average of 171 pins per outing.

With the win, Teregeyo pocketed $70 while Williams and Omechelang earned $35 and $25.

Omechelang also bowled on Monday and recorded the fifth-best production with 669 pins. Others making it to the top 10 list were Cora Muna (662), Mindy Taitano (650), Dolly Villagomez (649), Ron Cal (647), and Lala Taitano (637).

The tournament is the fifth of 12 monthly tournaments this year. It is sponsored by Pacific Trading Co. and organized by the Saipan Bowling Association. It culminates with a season-ending championship tournament to determine the overall champion. All monthly winners qualify for the year-ender contest.
