The Superior Court yesterday imposed a 60-day prison term on a 41-year-old man for possession of less than a gram of crystal methamphetamine or “ice.”

Associate Judge Juan T. Lizama sentenced Raymond DLG. King to one year in jail, all suspended except for 60 days, for illegal possession of a controlled substance.

Lizama ordered King to pay a $2,000 fine and $100 in court assessment fee.

After serving the jail term, the defendant will be placed on five years probation and is required to perform 200 hours of community work service.

King entered a plea agreement with the government. He pleaded guilty. In return, the government recommended the dismissal of his other drug case.

The agreement stated that on March 3, 2005, the defendant had less than one gram of “ice” on his person.

The other new case that the court dismissed charged the defendant with trafficking of controlled substance and conspiracy to commit trafficking of controlled substance.

Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. stated in that information that on Jan. 20, 2006, King delivered “ice” in exchange for $700 cash.
