Man caught for alleged burglary
A man was arrested after he allegedly burglarized a house on Capitol Hill that he also burglarized a month ago.
Nickson Gary Hartman, 25, was brought to the Superior Court yesterday on charges of burglary and theft.
Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja set a $10,000 cash bail for his temporary release.
Detective Simon T. Manacop stated in his report that on March 20, 2006, the residence of Gary Ramsey was burglarized and $200 in cash and assorted jewelry and other items worth $4,800 were stolen from the master bedroom.
Manacop said that on April 30, 2006 at 11:23pm, Hartman entered the patio of Ramsey’s house and tried to open the sliding glass door that leads to the master bedroom.
Ramsey, who was in the bedroom, heard the dogs barking outside. When he checked, he saw Hartman trying to open the sliding door.
Ramsey instructed his wife to call the police.
Hartman ran to the back side of the house. Later, a police officer spotted him allegedly hiding on top of a tree behind Ramsey’s house.
Manacop said that Hartman had admitted burglarizing the house twice.
The detective said the defendant led them to his house where they recovered some of the stolen items.
In other news, police arrested on Friday a 38-year-old man who burglarized a vehicle at XO Laundry in Gualo Rai.
Police said Lann Anko Billy broke into a vehicle belonging to Jocelyn Songsong on April 23, 2006. Witnesses informed the victim, who was doing laundry at that time.
Police arrived and arrested Billy.
Billy, however, failed to get any cash or items from the vehicle. He admitted to police he was looking for cash and cigarettes from the vehicle.
The court yesterday set a $5,000 cash bail for the defendant’s temporary liberty.
