The Marianas Visitors Authority and Division of Environmental Quality has teamed up for May’s cleanup brigade as part of MVA’s celebration of Tourism Month.

Volunteers will be picking up trash starting at Makaka beach south to Sugar Dock.

“If you would like to help cleanup and beautify our island, please meet the MVA and DEQ representatives on Saturday, May 6, at 7am. Come join us and ‘Pick it Up!,’” said the division in a statement.

The brigade cleans until 10am and breaks for drinks and then continues, if needed.

This month, outstanding brigade volunteers who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated in at least 3 cleanups will receive a green brigade t-shirt.

For more information about volunteering, contact the DEQ office at 664-8500. (PR)
